Says, “We Have Just One Goal, To Re-elect President Tinubu, Gov. Mbah In 2027

Ahead of the 2027 general election, the Enugu State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has inaugurated its ward and Council Area executives in Isi-Uzo Local Government Area of the State.

Speaking at the inauguration of the executives at Ikem, headquarters of Isi-Uzo Local Government Area (LGA), yesterday, Chairman of the 7-man Caretaker Committee of the party in the state, Dr. Ben Nwoye, stated they are highly committed in ensuring that president Bola Ahmed Tinubu wins the state overwhelmingly and Governor Peter Mbah is re- elected for a second term in office.

Nwoye, who led other members of the Committee, which had former Speaker of the Enugu State House of Assembly, Barrister Eugene Odo, as Secretary and Ex- Minister of Aviation Mrs. Fidelia Njeze as member in attendance, said that the interim state executive would be visiting the entire 17 local government areas and 260 political wards in the state to inaugurate their Caretaker Committees.

Addressing the Isi -Uzo new Caretaker Committee Executives shortly after the Secretary, Barrister Eugene Odo administered oath of office and allegiance on the executive members, Nwoye, harped on the need for the grassroot leaders to see APC in their locality as a one big united political family, stressing that “you must a carry every one along in all you do”

Nwoye told the party’s local government officials officials that the task ahead is to ensure that president Tinubu wins the state overwhelmingly, and the state governor Dr. Peter Ndubusi Mbah is re elected in 2027.

“However always make peace and unity your watch-word. And you must embark on robust mobilization of the electorate when the time comes”, he added.

According to the Chairman, the decision of Governor Mbah to pitch tent with the Nigeria’s ruling party remains a wise and bold stepcas it has linked the state to the national political grid.

In a brief speech, Governor Peter Mbah, who addressed the Isi Uzo party officials through his special Adviser on political matters, Chief Frank Anioma, expressed satisfaction with the existing peace amongst party members in the area, saying “If sustained, APC may not stress itself coming to campaign in the Local Government Area ahead of the 2027 elections.”

Throwing more light as to why he decided to joined the ruling APC, Mbah likened his decision to a case of someone traveling, and getting to the middle of his journey, the vehicle conveying the passengers developed serious fault which was beyond repair, posting that as one desirous of getting to his expected destination, the only option left was to board another vehicle to continue the journey.

He added that the vehicle conveying them was the PDP, but through the APC, they are very sure of getting to their expected destination.
In his remark, State Caretaker Committee Secretary, Barrister Odo, urged the new Local Government Area Executives to start seeing themselves as APC political evangelizers that would mobilize voters for the party in every nook and cranny of the locality at the appropriate time.

He pointed out that the choice of Isi -Uzo for the inauguration kick-off was not accidental but because of its political relevance.

Responding after receiving the APC flag and other party symbols from Nwoye, Chairman of the local government and leader of the party in the council area, Barrister Obiora Obeagu, assured the state leadership of their readiness to deliver over 100 percent votes to President Tinubu and Governor Mbah in 2027 poll.

Obeagu noted that Mbah’s numerous development of infrastructure and other sectors across the three senatorial zones of the state would make his campaign very easy for the APC when the time comes.

“The governor has really changed governance narrative in the state and Nigeria at large. The governor and APC do not need to come to Isi -Uzo for campaign because the state of the art smart school, type 2 hospital, good roads, amongst other great social amenities will do the campaign job for us”, Obeagu stated.
In similar development, the State Caretaker Committee inaugurated Enugu East, and Enugu South Local Government Areas Executives.

This reporter learnt that the inauguration exercise which will be held in 17 council areas and 260 wards that make up the state is expected to end on Friday.

The on-going inuaguration exercise is as a result of the vancant positions that followed the recent dissolution of Barrister Ugochukwu Agballa led state executive by the APC National Working Committee (NWC) on October 9, this year.
