RETHINKING HOW GOD HAS USED GOVERNOR PETER NDUBUISI MBAH TO SAVE ENUGU STATE FROM DOOM
Assoc. Prof. Hyginus Banko Okibe, Ph.D.
There is an aura of a new spirit enlivened by the sight of the ongoing development projects in Enugu state. No part is left out, every corner of the state is inclusive. Even those who anticipated vengeance to opposition politics are shocked that Barr Peter Mbah has recognized the areas among his priorities for development projects.
What the inclusive actions of the Governor revealed is that people should shun sentiment and elect a credible leader during elections, whose sole interest is to serve the public without discrimination. Ka Nkanu East Jee, Ka Isiuzo Jee, Ka Awgu Cultural Zone Jee, and the other campaign slogans converge in one mission – to elect a good leader and today, it can be affirmed that Ka Enugu Interest Jee has triumphed.
I’m particularly grateful that this new breeze of change is gently blowing across the Idodo zone, in similar proportion to what other zones are witnessing and thanking the Governor. It can only be God to remember the abandoned and forgotten people.
Today, one is glad to observe a huge activity that is ongoing around the diameter of Eke Obinagu junction to the Enugu-Ebonyi border, intersecting at the perimeter of Idodo Court, which traverses Owo axis on the left corridor and descending to the inner parts of Amechi Idodo to Amagunze and the environs on the right wing. The ongoing massive turnaround would compel anyone to admire how God can suddenly change bad situations for the better through an anointed Governor and purposeful leadership.
One could see how visible it has become for darkness to give way to light in Enugu state and how generational grumbling can begin to wane and speedily turn into a haven of banters where songs of joy echo, to the glory of God. It makes one rethink how God has used Governor Peter Mbah to restore belief in the “No Condition Is Permanent” idiom. In providing political leadership and dividends, the Idodo zone has become the center of gravity.
The history of God’s appointment of saviors to mitigate human affliction is as old as man. Going through memory lane will confirm that the name of Barr Peter Mbah is already inscribed in the Golden Book of committed and exemplary political leadership, not naïve or discriminatory in extending projects to both the Jews and Gentiles but fair to everyone regardless of political and ideological leaning.
Writing on divine intervention to solve problems faced by a society deserves citations. The essence is to show why people should differentiate between God’s plans and human contrivance and thereby refrain from playing God in what is not within their powers. Some of the few case studies serve as empirical evidence of what God can do.
In the Old Testament, there was a forecast of famine in the land. God saw the level of devastation it would cause to the people of Israelites, and divinely programmed the enslavement of Joseph to Egypt to be a savior and it came to pass. God’s plan has a background that the wisdom of man cannot easily unravel until it comes to fulfillment.
When God found the world mostly lacking in righteousness, He did not only frown at the darkness represented by sin; He destroyed the world but instituted Noah’s Ark to preserve some lives even when it seemed impracticable. It was the same thing when the Enugu people descended on PDP for its alleged abysmal performance, God used Barr Peter Mbah to preserve the few righteous ones. It showed that the ways of God are confounding to the faculty of mortals who think worldly and act blindly in the spiritual realm.
With God, nothing is impossible. He gave Enugu people Barr. Peter Mbah as Governor the same way He sent Christ to give light and give it abundantly to humanity when they seemed to lose hope and resigned to fate. Through Christ, salvation came to the world. The New Testament of life made old things naturally passed away and all things made new. In similar circumstances, God anointed Barr. Peter Mbah to restore the glory of Enugu state when satanic forces conspired to enthrone darkness.
It reminds one of the era of racial discrimination and the reduction of blacks to nothing in America, how the same God divinely enthroned Martin Luther King Jnr to pass on a message of redemption to the oppressed and declare to the oppressor that there shall be a time and season when the affliction would become history and it came to pass.
It also opens a chapter of the Apartheid Regime that raged for decades in South Africa and brought devastating decay in civilization and dehumanization, and how the same God anointed Nelson Mandela to bring freedom to the blacks. Nobody knew it would be possible to cross the dreaded Red Sea until blacks occupied positions that depicted domination in self-determination and political leadership.
Sometime in the past, Ghana relapsed into political criminality and leadership failure without regard for the suffering masses. God inspired Jerry Rawlings to embark on the revolution that restored sanity in the country and gave the poor people hope. Things in Ghana changed for the better and the people could proudly affirm that they were Ghanaians.
In Nigeria, though we are undergoing penance, God is still thinking and considering whom to anoint either to divide or unite and salvage the country from perpetual destruction. Once He is done and says yes, no one can say no, not even the false prophets and seers who see and say what does not emanate from God but from their demonic altar.
Migrating from one problem to another has resulted in different tales for different folks in Nigeria, which deform the yardstick for assessing each regime based on time and circumstances. Relating revenue to performance makes some regimes rated poorer than others. It is inexplicable when performance does not match with revenue. This is common when the leadership is a square peg in a round hole and this is where the Nigerian system has continued to fail.
From 1999 to date, there are some states that God has blessed with a divinely ordained political leadership, while others continue to be engrossed in disillusion, questioning their offenses against God whose altar at their Government Houses hosts daily prayers and sacrifices.
In Enugu state, the transition from one regime to the other with tumbling records of performance (either good or bad) made the scenario look somewhat fragile and worrisome when we approached the 2023 general elections. There was anxiety as to when all old things shall pass away, where justice will prevail, security restored and the people know peace. Only Barr Peter Mbah was devising the solutions when others were busy perfecting vote buying.
Sadly, desperation brought about mocking God and even deriding the government. The people who denied the place of God in our affairs attempted to derail positive expectations that would reverse the return of Enugu to the detested Egypt but the prayers of the faithful touched God and He began to plan for the redemption of Enugu people.
Some people felt that God’s intervention in the affairs of Enugu would not yield results and treated politics and leadership as birthright and not God as the King’s maker. They started to paint all-white symbols of purity in black colors and found nothing wrong in cutting social bonding and community life. They lost foresight of what destiny meant when their action seemed to challenge God’s plans.
But against their prediction that opposition would triumph, God’s plan began to manifest, and at every stage, He created pathways to either climb down from mountains or climb up from valleys. He canceled the quest to move Enugu from fire to frying pan and decided to prove that God never changes irrespective of human imagination.
What the Angel of God did in the house of Jesse when a King of God’s choice was to be anointed for the people of Israelites became the lot of those who jostled to become the anointed Governor of Enugu state. God rejected all the people found in the house except the one in the wilderness who was divinely chosen for the throne.
In the 2023 governorship selection process in Enugu, the rejection began from party primaries, through the campaigns, the elections, the hullabaloo that followed; the declaration of results, and the courts that the opposition engaged to challenge the divine mandate. It ended in vanity and it has come to pass and now history.
It is not in doubt that when David was anointed King of Israel, each of the other siblings could contend that they were nearly selected or anointed by the Angel. The same thing applied to some gubernatorial candidates in Enugu state who were captive to the same ‘nearly’ fixation, even when God is exact in what He does and nothing like nearly exists in His dictionary of blessings and favor.
Now that some honest politicians have confirmed the truth about the anointing of Barr Peter Ndubuisi Mbah with a commitment to participate in transforming Enugu state and are returning to PDP in droves, the gullible irredentists who belong to the family of Thomas have refused to manage ignorance of God’s plans for Enugu people with decorum. Sometimes, you hear them talk about 2027 in frustration, believing that it will offer another opportunity to swindle people and turn their rejection into acceptance.
But in the same way that the messenger of God that came to anoint David King was seen consciously and vividly rejecting those found in the house of Jesse, God will also send a messenger that will reject the evil gang in Enugu and pick Barr. Peter Mbah to be the governor of Enugu state as many times as the constitution would permit.
Many of them seemed to forget how God rejected every evil plot to hinder the selection of candidates for the 2023 governorship election despite being within the government circles. In other words, the emergence of Barr Peter Mbah conveyed the choice of the one in the wilderness, which no one could challenge and succeed, and nothing has changed in the plans of God for the Enugu people.
Indeed, God enthroned Peter Ndubuisi Mbah as the Governor of Enugu state for a definite purpose and not to be distracted by residual political elements looking for recognition on social media. Each of them will be tired of writing garbage soon and sit back to face the reality of life.
It is needless to inform them that God endorsed Barr Peter Mbah after assessing the precarious situations in the state and weighing who would carry the message of hope and redemption to the frustrated people. It has also come to pass and we are living witnesses to the narrative.
Here we are today with this message of God being fulfilled. Opposition will shun Town Hall Meeting which is a political temple where accounts of stewardship are given publicly and issues of public concern are openly and sincerely addressed. They detest hearing about different projects that are ongoing simultaneously, including human empowerment.
There are open confessions that God does not fail His people when called upon to heal the land of political corruption and leadership failures. Although some people will not cease to play the devil’s role, such people belong to the folks who returned with a disparaging message when they were sent to spy on the land God promised Israelites for permanent habitation.
In the same manner, the devil incarnates in Enugu state that roams about in the garb of opposition messengers and insults their ancestry without respect will always see the reason to disseminate false messages about the programs of Governor Peter Mbah that ridicule their feeble minds.
Their message is a further reminder of why God rejected their effrontery to dismember PDP and prayers of doom when it failed to work as clandestinely planned in the pit of hell. Yet, none is ashamed but folly. While Governor Peter Mbah is busy doing many projects in Enugu state, even at the doorstep of the disgruntled elements, they still take to social media to make a mockery of themselves.
One does not understand how part of opposition politics, which is embarrassing, to say the least, is that Governor Peter Mbah is doing too many projects at a time instead of one unit project for each year of his expected 8-year term. It shows what they planned to do with Enugu state funds if the powers of the satanic altar they coveted to win the election prevailed over God’s divine plans.
Nobody can stop Governor Peter Mbah from resurrecting people who live in slums and physical bondage. Instead, those who are bitter and pained that Governor Peter Mbah has begun to transform the state and restore normalcy in the system should exit and relocate to where their evil treasure is hidden. Responsible people are looking for space to breathe in fresh air not polluted by the political hawkers and explore the coal city with ease and fewer nuisances.
Governor Peter Mbah has shattered and crumbled every evil political empire in Enugu state. The public is happy with their absence in the new disruptive system, where widespread infrastructural development and human empowerment have conspicuously displaced their notorious gang liquidation of public treasury with fanfare.
Whether there is opposition or no opposition, God has remembered Enugu state, and nothing can stop what time has offered the Enugu people to see a new dawn. We shall remain grateful and supportive until the end of time.
