The Labour Party’s gubernatorial candidate in Anambra State and immediate past Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Chief Dr. George Moghalu, has extended warm congratulations to His Royal Majesty, Igwe Nnaemeka Alfred Achebe, CFR, MNI (Agbogidi), on the auspicious occasion of his 84th birthday.

In a message personally signed by Dr. Moghalu, he hailed the revered Obi of Onitsha as an emblem of national unity, social cohesion, and visionary leadership. Describing Igwe Achebe’s reign as one marked by integrity, wisdom, and devotion to community advancement, Dr. Moghalu praised the monarch for using his platform to drive progress not only in Onitsha but across the state and the nation.

Highlighting their longstanding personal relationship, Dr. Moghalu described His Majesty as a source of moral strength and trusted counsel. “Beyond his public stature, I have been privileged to enjoy a close and respectful relationship with His Majesty,” he noted. “His fatherly advice, unwavering moral support, and quiet encouragement continue to motivate and inspire me in my personal and public life.”

“I join the good people of Onicha Ado N’Idu, friends, family, and all well-wishers in celebrating a traditional ruler whose leadership continues to inspire generations,” Dr. Moghalu stated. “His Majesty’s deep intellect, moral courage, and commitment to truth and progress have contributed immensely to shaping dialogue around governance, equity, and development.”

Dr. Moghalu particularly noted Igwe Achebe’s distinguished approach to public discourse, lauding his interventions through lectures and national fora that have enriched democratic values and policy thinking across Nigeria.

As the monarch marks this remarkable milestone, Dr. Moghalu prayed for continued strength, health, and divine wisdom to sustain his enduring service to the people of Onitsha, Anambra State, and the nation at large.
