Mr. Emmanuel Ekene Nnamani, Executive Chairman of the Enugu State Internal Revenue Service (ESIRS), had the distinct honor of hosting the 17th President of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN), Chief Innocent Ohagwa, FCTI during his brief but impactful visit to Enugu State.
The courtesy visit served as an opportunity to foster collaboration between the CITN and the Enugu State government, particularly in the areas of new tax reform administration, capacity building, and revenue generation strategies. Discussions centered around strengthening strategies for implementing the new tax reform, professional standards, enhancing compliance, and leveraging institutional partnerships to drive sustainable growth in Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) within the state.
Mr. Nnamani expressed his appreciation for the visit, reaffirming the commitment of ESIRS to upholding best practices in tax administration while working closely with professional bodies such as the CITN.
The CITN President, Chief Ohagwa commended the strides Enugu State has made in improving its revenue systems and pledged the Institute’s continued support in advancing taxation as a tool for economic development.
