As Nigerian celebrates its 63rd Independence Anniversary, I want to remind Nigerians of the immense sacrifices of our forefathers, notably late Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe.
Others are Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, Sir Ahmed Bello, Sir Herbert Macaulay and Chief Obafemi Awolowo, for the independence of our great country from the yoke of colonialism.
They sacrificed their personal comfort, energy, time and wealth for the country to be independent, united and indivisible entity.
As we celebrate today, we should not allow these sacrifices to be in vain.
The unity and oneness of Nigeria must be sacrosanct in the interest of the present and future generations.
As Nigerians, we must continue to offer selfless service for the unity of the country and for the future of the next generation.
I want to use this opportunity to congratulate Mr. President and the people of Nigeria, My dear Governor, His Excellency, Hon. Barr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, the Executive Governor of Enugu State and the good people of Enugu North Constituency on this unique occasion of Nigerian Independence.
Happy Independence Anniversary!
Hon. Johnson Samuel Ani, member representing Enugu North Constituency/Majority Leader, Enugu State House of Assembly.
