The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Betta Edu, has said that the Federal Government has resumed the payment of arrears to beneficiaries of the N-Power programme.
N-Power is a scheme set up in 2016 by the former President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, to address the issues of youth unemployment and help increase social development.
The beneficiaries were being owed some months’ salaries by the former President Muhammadu Buhari administration but paused by President Bola Tinubu on assumption of office.
However, the minister clarified that the Federal Government wants to resolve the lapses in the scheme before resuming it.
, who noted that the payment of arrears to beneficiaries of the programme began yesterday, disclosed this on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday.
Edu said, “Presently, a payment for N-Power is ongoing; we were in the office yesterday up until the early hours of this morning, just to ensure that young people get monies that they have been owed from the last government.
