Hon. Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba is a Nigerian politician and lawyer who has made significant contributions to the country’s olitical landscape, especially in the education sector. Born on August 20, 1967, in Ehime Mbano, Imo State, Nigeria, Nwajiuba holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from Imo State University, a Master of Laws (LLM) degree from the University of Lagos, and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Law from the University of Jos.
Nwajiuba’s career in politics spans over two decades, with notable positions including:
– Member, House of Representatives: Represented Ehime Mbano/Ihitte Uboma/Obowo Federal Constituency of Imo State from 1999 to 2003.
– Chairman, Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund): Served from 2017 to 2019
– Minister of State for Education: Appointed in 2019, a position he held until his resignation in April 2022 to pursue his presidential ambitions.
Nwajiuba is known for his commitment to good governance, education reform and has played a crucial role in driving the “Education for Change” initiative, a ministerial strategic plan aimed at repositioning Nigeria’s education sector when he was minister of state education during the immediate last administration of Gen
