ANAMBRA GUBER: COMMUNITY-TO-COMMUNITY TOUR — MOGHALU CAMPAIGN TRAIN STORMS OMASI, UMUEJE, IFITE OGWARI AND IGBAKWU

…Says Ayamelum has what it takes to become Anambra’s food basket

The Labour Party Governorship Candidate for the November 8, 2025 Anambra election, Chief Dr. George Moghalu (Ohamadike Nnewi, Ugwumba Omasi), on Thursday led his campaign train to Omasi, Umueje, Ifite Ogwari, and Igbakwu communities in Ayamelum Local Government Area, where he was received amidst cheers, songs, and overwhelming support from indigenes and residents. The visit, part of his ongoing community-to-community engagement tour, reaffirmed his deep connection with the grassroots and his unwavering commitment to a people-oriented government anchored on development, equity, and compassion.

Addressing the enthusiastic crowd, Dr. Moghalu — who holds the prestigious title of Ugwumba of Omasi — commended the resilience of Ayamelum people and described the area as the agricultural heartbeat of Anambra. He noted that Ayamelum’s vast farmlands and industrious farmers, if properly supported, can feed not just Anambra but the entire Southeast. He pledged to unlock this potential through mechanized agriculture, farm-to-market roads, irrigation systems, and agro-processing industries. “Ayamelum will no longer be forgotten,” he declared. “Under my administration, this land will stand tall as the true food basket of Anambra State.”

Reaffirming his Recovery Agenda, Dr. Moghalu outlined key pillars of his social contract with Ndi Anambra. He promised free and compulsory education for every Anambra child, free healthcare for the elderly, and monthly stipends for citizens aged 70 and above to ease their living conditions. He emphasized that governance must be about improving lives, not enriching a few. “Our people deserve a government that truly cares,” Moghalu said. “Every child must have access to quality education regardless of background. Our elderly who laboured for this state must not be abandoned. Their welfare will be our pride.”

Dr. Moghalu expressed deep gratitude to the people of Ayamelum for their warm reception and enduring faith in his leadership, describing it as both humbling and inspiring. He assured them that as Ohamadike Nnewi and Ugwumba Omasi, he remains committed to a vision of shared prosperity and honest leadership. “This campaign is not about promises; it is about purpose,” he concluded. “Together, we will recover our state, rebuild our institutions, and restore the dignity of Anambra people.”
