ANAMBRA GUBER: MOGHALU CAMPAIGN TRAIN STORMS ALOR, NNOKWA AND AWKA-ETITI

LP candidate vows to end excessive taxation, restore security, and revive scholarship scheme across Anambra

The Labour Party Governorship Candidate in Anambra State, Dr. George Moghalu, on Friday took his community-to-community campaign to Alor, Nnokwa and Awka-Etiti, where he restated his commitment to restoring responsible governance and rebuilding the state’s social and economic foundations. He urged voters to protect their votes on election day, warning that those who failed in governance would attempt to buy votes and mortgage the people’s future.

Addressing supporters at the Ubili Welfare Association Civic Centre, Nnokwa, Dr. Moghalu announced plans for free medical care for senior citizens aged 65 years and above, alongside free and compulsory education for all children. He also promised to revive the State Scholarship Board to ensure that brilliant but less-privileged students benefit from government sponsorship, saying education remains the key to sustainable development.

Dr. Moghalu vowed to abolish excessive taxation on traders and transporters, describing the current system as oppressive and insensitive to the plight of ordinary citizens. He pledged to deliver durable road infrastructure, not the substandard projects that fail within months, and to tackle insecurity to make Anambra safe again. He criticised the Soludo administration for “audio MOUs” and for failing to address the state’s worsening electricity and security challenges.

The Labour Party Deputy Governorship Candidate, Mrs. Ifeoma Okaro, urged women to take active roles in the campaign, assuring them that a Moghalu-led government would prioritise their empowerment and welfare. From Alor to Nnokwa and Awka-Etiti, the Moghalu campaign train drew massive receptions, with residents expressing renewed hope in his message of recovery, accountability and a better Anambra for all.
