Does Enugu State Government make the Right Decision in the Management of Smart Schools in the State?.

Posted on March 4, 2026 by Sonia Onoja

Does the Enugu State Government make the Right Decision in the Management of Smart Schools in the State?.

A smart school is not a traditional school, some traditional schools are solar-powered with modern educational facilities.
Some provide vocational training.

In providing efficient administration in smart schools, smart school solutions are provided with attendance tracking, grade management, qualified teachers, and communication.

If there was any intention for smart schools, the government ICT agency would have provided the infrastructure and built all the processes required to handle the 260 schools in our political wards with backup servers, and data recovery sites located somewhere in the three senatorial zones for smooth operation.

The big question is, do we have an efficient State ICT agency and other necessary logistics in Enugu State?

The State ICT centre is not stable, and it will be hard for the smooth take-off of the smart schools within our wards.

When you raise those questions and provide answers for them, you will come to the conclusion that Enugu State is not ripe for the efficient take-off of smart schools in the State.

The Executive Governor of Enugu State should have stopped at green schools and worked hard to complete the buildings, furnishing them to standardise the education system in the State.

No Governor in Nigeria can match Prof Zulum of Borno State in terms of building schools and efficient education management.
Governor Mbah should have followed that style and given the construction of these schools to Enugu State structural Engineers.
Most of these buildings are already collapsing and will require structural redesign and reconstruction.

We believe that we have a listening Leader in the person of our dear Governor.

We have absolute confidence in his administration and believe that he will look into the management of the recently built schools in the state and make the necessary corrections for the overall interest of our dear State.

We need to go back to our system of education in Enugu State before the introduction of Smart Schools.
