*EID-EL-KABIR: MOGHALU CALLS FOR SACRIFICE, UNITY, AND RENEWED COMMITMENT TO PEACE*
— AS he Felicitates with Muslim Faithful
As Muslims in Nigeria and around the world celebrate this year’s Eid-el-Kabir, the Labour Party Governorship Candidate in Anambra State and Immediate Past Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Chief Dr. George Moghalu, has extended warm greetings and heartfelt wishes to the Muslim community in Anambra State and beyond.
In a goodwill message released from his Media Center, Dr. Moghalu described the celebration as a sacred and reflective period that transcends ritual and festivity. He urged the faithful to draw inspiration from the unwavering devotion of Prophet Ibrahim, whose profound act of obedience and sacrifice remains a cornerstone of the Islamic faith. “Eid-el-Kabir reminds us all—regardless of religious affiliation—of the power of faith, devotion, and selfless sacrifice. In the spirit of this holy season, I call on our Muslim brothers and sisters in Anambra and across Nigeria to continue to be ambassadors of peace, tolerance, and unity,” Dr. Moghalu stated.
He further encouraged adherents of Islam to reflect on the universal values that bind humanity—compassion, humility, and service—and to extend love and generosity to the less privileged, especially during this sacred period.
Widely known for his inclusive leadership and unflinching commitment to justice and equity, Dr. Moghalu emphasized the critical role of religious harmony in ensuring sustainable development in Nigeria’s pluralistic society. “As we prepare for the journey ahead in Anambra, my vision is for a state where everyone—regardless of religious or ethnic background—feels seen, heard, and valued. Let us work together to build an Anambra where peace reigns and opportunities abound for all,” he added.
Dr. Moghalu reaffirmed his commitment to leading a government that upholds religious freedom, defends the rights of all citizens, and actively promotes interfaith dialogue as a cornerstone of peaceful coexistence and community development.
He concluded his message with a heartfelt prayer for peace, security, and prosperity across Nigeria, particularly in this moment of spiritual reflection and renewal. “On behalf of myself, my family, and the entire Labour Party campaign team, I wish all Muslims in Anambra and across Nigeria a peaceful and joyous Eid.
Barka da Sallah!”
