Ighodalo’s supporters invite Trump, Putin, King Charles and ICC
Hardball by John Mayaki
An amorphous support group known as ‘Gidigba’, hurriedly assembled to shore up the dwindling fortunes of Asue Ighodalo have taken their desperation to a new height.
Someone called them ‘comedians’ for issuing a statement calling on the International Criminal Court (ICC), King Charles, and even US President, Donald Trump to come to their rescue in the ongoing governorship election petition tribunal sitting.
When I saw the statement, I didn’t attached any importance to it but I think it is only good to knock them for exhibiting their ignorance in public.
I think it is also good for me to urge them not to stop there alone. Since they want to summon global heavyweights, they should not forget to add Vladimir Putin to the list. He would be able to bring his “persuasive tactics” to bear.
Infact, Gidigba should also not forget to add the Pope to the endless list – he has the capacity to lend some divine intervention to the Asue Ighodalo cause and of course, Mahatma Gandhi can also be of help. His peaceful protest strategy could come handy at the tribunal sitting in Abuja.
What about Beyoncé? The United Nations General Assembly? Are we also expecting Dalai Lama? I think these guys have proved that politics in Edo state is not just a battle of ideas but a never-ending comedy.
Just wondering why they have not called on the spirit of Albert Einstein to help them calculate their chances of victory or Napoleon Bonaparte to lead their next tribunal charge on Thursday? Foolish and aimless amorphous support group known as Gidigba.
Maybe I should let you guys know, that even with Trump, Putin, King Charles, Gandhi and ICC in your corner, it is hard to sell a lost case. Stop exposing your foolery, desperation and childishness in the market square.
