Never in this Fourth Republic has Anambra sunk so low in governance. Do the present occupier of Agu Awka and his willing lieutenants ever pause to consider that school children watch and read them daily?
Our leaders of tomorrow are being fed poison from those they should emulate. If a governor wields power to insult, intimidate, and tear down even those who never wronged him, why blame our teachers when tomorrow’s graduates mirror the same arrogance, pettiness, and envy?
Sadly, respected voices, including the clergy, traditional rulers, community leaders, professional groups, and traders’ unions, look the other way as Agu Awka descends into street-market ideology. Governance is about human development, not only in health or infrastructure, but also in mental growth. For over three years, citizens have been soaked in negativity from those meant to inspire.
Dr George Moghalu offers the antidote. He carries the character and capacity to restore Agu Awka into an institution of decorum, respect, and unity – one where every citizen, regardless of class, gender, or affiliation, feels valued. Anambra urgently needs to end this era of reckless speeches and reclaim leadership that shapes minds with dignity.
