Nigeria at 65th: Hon.Okon Edidiong Felicitates with President Tinubu on Nigeria’s Independence

Posted on October 1, 2025 by Sonia Onoja

NIGERIA @ 65: HON. OKON CALLS FOR UNITY, RESILIENCE, AND NATIONAL RENEWAL

As Nigeria marks 65 years of independence, Hon. Okon Edidiong, National Deputy Coordinator of Team Akpabio for Tinubu (TAT), has delivered a resounding nationwide salute, celebrating the Nigerian people as symbols of endurance, faith, and boundless possibility.

In a stirring message, Hon. Okon declared that Nigeria at 65 is not merely an anniversary, but a testimony of survival, resilience, and the triumph of hope over despair.

“Nigeria at 65 is more than a number. It is a covenant of faith. We have walked through fire, yet we are not consumed. We have faced storms, yet we are not drowned. Our strength is in our unity, our pride is in our diversity, and our destiny is in our hands,” he proclaimed.

Representing Team Akpabio for Tinubu (TAT), Hon. Okon reaffirmed the movement’s unyielding loyalty to the vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the unflinching commitment of Senate President, Distinguished Senator Dr. Godswill Akpabio to deliver the dividends of democracy.

He described TAT as the *living bridge* between government and the people, a movement that embodies faith in Nigeria’s renewed hope agenda and stands as a guardian of the nation’s collective aspirations.

At this historic milestone, Hon. Okon charged Nigerians to rise above ethnic divides, political rancor, and sectional interests, emphasizing that patriotism is the true fuel of progress.

“This is not the season for despair or division. This is the season for courage, service, and unity. Our strength is not in what separates us but in what binds us together, one flag, one anthem, one nation, one destiny,” he stated.

He insisted that Nigeria’s greatness is not a dream deferred but a destiny delayed, and the responsibility of reclaiming it rests with every citizen.

Hon. Okon used the occasion to salute the everyday heroes who make Nigeria’s survival possible:

– The farmers, who sustain the nation with their sweat.

– The teachers, who mold tomorrow’s leaders.

– The security personnel, who defend Nigeria’s sovereignty at all costs.

– The mothers and women, whose resilience holds families and communities together.

– The youths, whose energy, creativity, and innovation must light the path of the future.

Looking ahead, the National Deputy Coordinator of TAT urged Nigerians not to surrender to despair but to embrace renewed faith in the country’s destiny.

“At 65, Nigeria is not at her sunset but at the dawn of greatness. We shall rise from the ashes of yesterday into the promise of tomorrow. Together, we will build a nation where justice flows, peace reigns, and prosperity is shared by all,” Hon. Okon affirmed.

He concluded with a rallying call to citizens everywhere to recommit themselves to Nigeria’s unity and progress, stressing that TAT will remain steadfast in sustaining the renewed hope agenda for the glory of the nation.
