Why every Zone has a Stake in Moghalu’s Governorship

Posted on August 25, 2025 by Sonia Onoja

WHY EVERY ZONE HAS A STAKE IN MOGHALU’S GOVERNORSHIP

By Ozojiofor Michael Esq.

For far too long, Anambra politics has been marked by selective governance where development is concentrated in favored areas while others are left behind. Roads in one zone, abandoned bridges in another. Schools in the capital, dilapidated ones in the hinterlands.

Chief George Moghalu is changing that conversation.

His vision is simple: Every LGA matters. Every community counts. Every citizen deserves good governance.

From Ofala festivals in Anambra North to flood-prone Ogbaru, from the manufacturing hubs of Nnewi to the farming belts of Orumba; Dr. Moghalu is running to govern all of Anambra, not just a privileged part.

A State-Wide Agenda, Not a Sectional Plan:
Dr. Moghalu’s governance blueprint is deliberately structured to ensure equal opportunity and balanced development across the three senatorial zones:

Anambra South, Unlocking Industrial Power:
(a). Establish industrial parks in Nnewi and Ozubulu with access roads and security
(b). Support indigenous manufacturers with power alternatives and tax incentives
(c). Open up rural access roads in Ihiala, Ekwusigo, and Aguata for agricultural evacuation
Rehabilitate community health centers and build smart classrooms in Uga, Uli, and Osumenyi

Moghalu understands that when Nnewi rises, the state’s economy rises with it.

Anambra North, Ending Neglect, Empowering Potential:
(a). Develop flood control infrastructure in Ogbaru, Otuocha, and Omambala region
(b). Expand water transport safety and dredging in the riverine areas of Anambra East/West
(c). Partner with investors to create eco-tourism destinations in Nsugbe, Anam, and Igbariam
Introduce farming support programs to empower communities in Ayamelum and beyond

No more tokenism—Anambra North deserves infrastructure, dignity, and sustained attention.

Anambra Central: Restoring the Capital’s Glory
(a). Redesign Awka’s urban masterplan with functional drainage and zoning regulations
(b). Upgrade market infrastructure in Abagana, Amawbia, and Enugwu-Ukwu
(c). Modernize Zik Avenue and link roads into multi-lane, flood-free expressways
(d). Create a permanent ICT hub in Awka to serve startups and digital businesses

As the state capital, Awka must reflect excellence and Dr. Moghalu has a plan for that.

Equity in Appointments, Projects & Budgets:
Dr. Moghalu believes equity is not charity , it is responsibility.

(i). His cabinet will reflect zonal and gender balance
(ii). Major state projects will be distributed based on need and economic impact, not favoritism
(iii). He will institutionalize citizens’ town halls in every zone to receive input directly

No More “Our Turn” Party Politics:
Dr. Moghalu rejects the idea that governance should rotate as a reward or entitlement for any political party .

“It should never be about where you belong to. It should be about what you can do for where we’re all going.” — George Moghalu

In him, Ndi Anambra will find a leader who sees the entire state as his constituency. Not Awka. Not Nnewi. Not Onitsha. But everywhere. Everyone. Equally.

Final Word:
Dr. George Moghalu is offering Ndi Anambra a rare thing: inclusive leadership with a statewide conscience.
If you’re from Ogbaru, he sees you.
If you’re from Oko, he hears you.
If you’re from Awka North, he’s coming for you with roads, hospitals, schools, jobs, and justice.

Let’s elect a governor who won’t need reminding that every community matters.
